We all deserve to live in a place that offers a great education, we can be safe, have access to affordable healthcare, not worry about food, not worry about having clean drinking water, not worry about housing, and not worry about being discriminated against for any reason. We need to celebrate diversity rather than fear our differences. We need to be free to speak, protest, disagree, and share our opinions without being retaliated against. I will work tirelessly on improving Kentuckians' lives through strengthening public education, affordable and accessible healthcare, civil rights, gun violence prevention, supporting the arts, supporting our veterans, helping those with housing and food insecurities, a clean environment, ending domestic violence, and whatever else I can do to help others.
Actions speak louder than words, and I have already been getting positive results in the community on several of these issues. If our elected officials are not getting results to help the community, then they shouldn’t be taking up a seat from someone who is. We must hold all of our elected officials accountable, regardless of party affiliation. I understand that it’s difficult to get legislation passed from the minority party, but there is no excuse for not using that public platform to make positive changes in the community that don’t require legislation; I am doing that. Being the State Representative for the 76th House District of Kentucky will give me even greater opportunities to help more people.
