Who is Jamie Palumbo?
Jamie Palumbo is very close with his family, which includes his parents, State Rep Ruth Ann, John II; brothers Joe (Jennifer), Stephen (Jamie), and Johnny (deceased); nieces and nephews Anna, John IV, Sanina, Baker, Juliette, and Jorjanna. Jamie has two dogs (which are more like children to him) that he adopted from the Lexington Humane Society, Kennedy and Madison.
Jamie was born in Lexington, KY, and grew up in the 76th House District.
He is a member of Calvary Baptist Church and has been since birth. Jamie is a Bryan Station graduate, where he re-started the Young Democrats Club and was active in student government, theater, and in multiple clubs centered around community service/engagement.
Jamie graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BA in political science. He is a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and served as Corresponding Secretary, Philanthropy Chair and IGPA Chair.
Jamie is a lifelong Democrat.

Jamie is a Coach
Jamie began diving in the summer at a young age and then dove for Mike and Emily Lyden in high school at the Kentucky Diving Club. He has been coaching since he was just out of high school in 1997 and has coached at Spindletop since 2007.
Since coming to Spindletop, the dive team has won the Conference Championships 13 times out of 15 and a very close 2nd place the other 2 years (not including the virtual Conference of 2020). He coached Woodford County High School from 2002-2009 (where the Dive team was undefeated at the Regional Championships) and is currently the high school coach for Bryan Station, Great Crossing, Lexington Catholic, Madison Central, Sayre, and Scott County.
Jamie always sends divers to the KHSAA State Championships, many whom qualify for finals. Jamie started coaching USA diving under Mike Lyden and then under Ted Hautau at the Kentucky Diving Club.
Jamie is a KHSAA certified Swimming/ Diving Official and was the KHSAA Region 3 Diving Referee 2003-2012.
Jamie was one of the first Members of the Board of Directors for the Central Kentucky Swim and Dive Conference and is currently the Dive Director for the conference as well as on the State Swimming and Diving Advisory Committee for the KHSAA. He was voted KHSAA Region 3 Dive Coach of the Year for 2003 through 2009 and 2015, as well as the KHSAA Region 8 Dive Coach of the Year for 2016, 2017, and 2018. He has also been voted the 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015 KHSAA Outstanding Girls Dive Coach, as well as the 2011, 2012, and 2018 KHSAA Outstanding Boys Dive Coach for the State of Kentucky.
Jamie hosts the biggest high school dive invitational in Kentucky through Bryan Station High School and added a fundraising component of the meet to help others in need.
Jamie is actively involved in his community and supports many different organizations.
